Rabbi Search

We are pleased to announce that visiting-Rabbi candidate Rabbi Joseph Ozarowski will be joining us the weekend of October 10-12. Rabbi Ozarowski will deliver a short talk following Friday night services, and a dvar Torah Saturday morning. He will also lead a shiur between Mincha and Ma'ariv on Shabbat. Members are invited to a congregational Q &A following Shacharit on Sunday morning; questions can be submitted to Ron Krebs or Hanna Bloomfield in advance.

 

Update August 6,2008

The board recently instructed the Rabbi Search Committee to transition its search from a part-time, in-residence Rabbi to a "once-a-month", visiting Rabbi.  The Search committee has prepared a position description for this new position (available on our website) and is beginning to identify and interview candidates.  We will keep you informed of our progress.  Please feel free to direct any comments or questions to either Hanna Bloomfield or Ron Krebs, committee co-chairs.

Update from the Rabbi Search Committee January 23, 2008

 

We have met twice and finalized all the documents we need to formally initiate our search.  Those documents have been sent to our contacts at the Straus-Amiel Institute in Jerusalem; Yeshiva University; and Yeshivat Chovevei Torah.  The search process documents are available for your perusal in the right hand column.  The community questionnaire, which we are not posting on our website, is available on request.  Our next step, once we receive resumes, will be to plan our selection process in more detail.  We will keep you posted! 

 

Darchei Noam begins search for Part Time Rabbi Dec. 12, 2007

Based on the results of a survey of the congregation with 77% positive of the 56 responses, a search committee headed by Ron Krebs and Hanna Bloomfield will be proceeding with the search process.  The congregation will be asked for input and kept up to date at each major step.  The response to the survey was very impressive and the comments quite valuable.
